Android has over the years become a very interesting OS, with its adoption over a handful of gadgets ranging from tvs to wearables to automobiles. now you can use android on your pc as a secondary os, by dual booting both your pre-installed Windows alongside this android os. this android project has been in work for a few years now, the final consumer version was released sometime earlier this year. the main purpose i suppose was to revive those old computers that you have packed aside, as it is light weight and runs smooth unlike the regular Windows os that requires quite a huge amount of power.
REMIX OS which is the name give to this OS by the creators JIDE can be installed with very easy steps detailed out over at the remix website, it takes quite some time if you are installing it for the first time, so you have to be very patient.
after installation, you would notice a Windows-like home screen which is pretty cool, it comes pre installed with a very powerful file manager, it doesn't come pre-installed with playstore, you will have to sideload that. the os is ready to use after installation, so have fun exploring it by yourself.
this is not the type of os that could replace your Windows os as it is just for Android users who like to experiment and try out cool stuffs, personally i installed this os on my pc just because i wanted to play games on a bigger screen and also with a pad. not all games are working properly yet as of now but you can try some games out and tell us how well it plays over at the comments section below, android developers can also join the remix conversation at xda website .
