A Brotherly Advice To Immanuel Kant,The Erstwhile PRO Of Great Ife Students' Union

A BROTHERLY ADVISE TO OJEDOKUN IMMANUEL KANT, A FORMER PRO OF GREAT IFE STUDENTS UNION By Moshood Odunayo Olajide Dear Mr Immanuel Kant, you may be wondering why I am not addressing you with the appellation Comrade which is now mischievously and dishonourably ascribed to every political gluttonous careerists that finds his or her way into the student movement in the country. The reason is that people shouldn’t be addressed as Comrade just by the mere fact of their membership of student unions. People should only be addressed as such if they are involved in honourable deeds liberating the masses and fighting the course of the defencelessness in the process. Mr Immanuel Kant, be rest assured that before writing this long innocuous piece, I had dispassionately ruminated over the possible consequences of an ordinary' student like me engaging the corrupt, dreaded and inefficient former Image maker of Great Ife students union which is the most radical union in the country. I could have easily reach out to you privately to express my concerns but I however, just had to perish the thought of toeing that path because I want to have witnesses and besides you may be attending to your lascivious conjugal obligations since you have penchant of hobnobbing around with big lips and flatted hips ladies. That is if you still have time for that given your deep involvement in politicking especially your open romance with anti-students personalities and your recent move to ensure that your anointed candidate emerge as NANS Senate President in the upcoming convention in which your agenda including that of your colleagues who obtain contractual reinstatement after the sordid and monumental corruption cases perpetrated while in office which make anti-corruption activists on campus threatened to parade you is becoming clearer. Your loud -mouthedness and obstreperousness is even exposing your self centered mission if you don't know. Let me also quickly apologise for the frequent use of the pronoun 'I' in this piece. It is not indicative of ego or self - glorification but unavoidable in view of the very nature of this piece. I have refused to tackle you recently or comment on issues that affects your interest directly or indirectly. Not because I stand to lose anything if I do otherwise. My quietude is not because I have benefited from you in anyway neither is it because I hope to curry favours from you. If you know me well which I believe you should, you will know that I don't have regard for non principled individuals. My refusal to come out publicly to chastise you on occasions you have erred is very personal. Early this morning, you release News bulletin through your mushroom medium of falsehood called OAU Informed which students tagged OAU deformed owning to the rate of propaganda and bitter lies flying through the platform. In the News you release this morning, you write that students condemn the interview I conducted yesterday for aspiring NANS Senate Presidential candidates in OAU Wikileaks. Can you swear with your certificate about this? Can you mention the name of the person who condemn the interview and said it was stage managed? Have you read the questions and answer session posted by News agencies? The intellectual gap between the rate of explanation of the aspirant and the moderator said it all. Your today's serial lie is a very shameful and disgusting thing to do in your quest for power and immeasurable greediness as Men of principles do not capitulate even at the risk of personal privation. That you are protecting the interest of a candidate should never translate to dumping of the code of honour and applying the sanctimoniousness of the pen in your mushroom platform. Besides, when is the last time you have issued a News through this platform? The platform has disappeared without a trace after consistent and vociferous criticism of students. But suddenly you come up this morning with your empty news thinking you can control the mind of students. You can't! Do you remember various salutations of the World press day celebrated on Tuesday at all? That is if you have time for that anyway materialistic driven activities has pollute your mind. Since you are no longer representing me after the administration you served in has been disgracefully dissolved through the Congress of Great Ife students, I care very less about how you go about your responsibilities. Please in your quest for your penchant to amass wealth and betray pro student moves, cease making provocative comments that insults the collective sanity of students. Do not rape common sense just to massage the insatiable ego of your anti-people benefactors as you cannot rape a Man's wife and expect the man to clap for you. I have read comments credited to you that the interview I organized for NANS Senate and Presidential aspirants in OAU Wikileaks yesterday was also manipulated. If indeed you made that statement, then it is very unfortunate. As corrupt and shameless as many accidental union leaders, I still believe that you have the potential to offer saner leadership. But I’m afraid that the once respected Immanuel Kant is fast becoming a terrifying political sycophant. Can you define manipulation? who manipulated it? The truth of the matter is that it was not manipulated but you are scared and jittery of the audience the interview received as many News agencies cover it including independent observers. Can you compare that interview with the one conducted for your annointed candidate supported by two other dudes who negotiated for the contractual reinstatement?Don't let your quest to get federal appointment from politicians through the structure of NANS blindfold your cerebral. You and I know what transpired during the scholarship scheme scandal which you are pivotal in implementing, you and I know how you and your little god (TY) got millions of naira from Gurumaraji using the name of Great Ife students, you and I know how you use the structure of the CEC to write letter to the Etsu of Nupe Congratulating him on his appointment (whether he gave you monetary reward like Gurumaraji is what am yet to fathom out). So it is pointless to go through it here. Can you honestly knell before the Church of the God of Celestial which you worship or even before your pastor and swear with the Bible that the interview was manipulated? Playing God has destroyed many people. You don’t have to murder truth and good conscience in your aspiration to get appointment through the structure of NANS. Life is more than uncensored loyalty to corrupt people. Your destiny is not in the hand of any personality. You have been privileged to be the Image maker of the Student Union while am sure you have good parents of virtue. So stop boasting, stop manipulating the truth, be sober, be patriotic, and grateful to God. You see, some people may be your little god today but those people are not and will never be God. Don’t allow your political interest to destroy the appreciable reputation that you have earned as a student unionist. Getting appointment doesn’t make anyone more mortal especially when the system is corrupt and dependent on imperialist states. Manipulating the truth will never get you anywhere but spoil and decimate your negligible noble character remaining after you and your colleagues collected 200,000 Naira donation from the Ooni of Ife on behalf of Great Ife students and shared it like a black money stolen by Diezani Allison Maduekwe, Nigeria's former petroleum minister recuperating in a London hospital. I am devoting my precious time to offer this unsolicited counsel because I still admire you. I still regard you as a Comrade brother. But you know that true Comrades do not sacrifice core values on the alter of friendship and personal aggrandisement. Dear Immanuel Kant, those who manipulate the truth will drown as time me goes on. And the days of many unionists, and public officials are numbered. Their power, corruption, arrogance, manipulation of truth and shenanigans will soon come to an end. Soon, their predicament will be worse than that of James Ibori, the convicted former governor of Delta State who like many people like Omotayo Akande TY looted Great Ife students blind in connivance with your office and other position in the Central Executive Council (CEC) . You have a choice – either to go down with your greedy motives and serial lies or stand on the side of the truth and the Nigerian youths. I wish you what you wish the student movement in the country. Your brother, Moshood Odunayo Olajide Convener, OAU WIKILEAKS
