A MESSAGE TO ALL OAU FRESH STUDENTS - From Mr Lee (CEO SMARTBRAINS ,PRO NABOS ,DRC MEMBER NASS )

I personally Congratulate  and welcome all the newly admitted students into this great citadel of learning ,OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY ,popularly known as GREAT IFE  no matter the course (either given or chosen ) .

Thinking about what you did,faced and passed through before you got admitted ,(was it the  Overnight reading ,finishing & solving  of jamb & postume past questions ,various tutorials attended ,stress of registration,travelling from your homes for the examination ,buying of result checker ,waiting for admission list ,countdown to resumption ,etc ) ,I think these are  enough to show that no success comes without commitment and Devotion  as Success according to dictionary is  the correct or desired result of an attempt.

As you begin a new chapter of life as an undergraduate ,I will like to share with you three (3) major key factors you need as a student (its an advice though as no one is an epitome of knowledge )

1)PUTTING GOD FIRST - Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life .Remember that many were called (more than 20,000 students were seeking admission with you ) but few (just about 5,000 including pre-degree students  ) got chosen .This should tell you its not by your might or brain but by the grace you received from the creator .

So don't use this (especially students leaving the 4 corners of their house for the first time ) as an opportunity to flex ,etc as With God all things are possible (Good grades )

2)STUDYING HARD AND ATTENDING LECTURES REGULARLY  - This is a major problem the students are facing as only few takes reading as an hobby .Attending lectures might be stressful but You just have to be focused and hardworking .

Achieving Good grades really isn't that easy in OAU but you have to find a way for yourself to make it easy  as Success is simple. You only need to do what's right, the right way, at the right time. Mind you, you can only achieve this by believing in yourself ,knowing where you are coming from and where you are heading to.

3)BALANCING - here is where most students get it wrong and make mistakes (using myself as an example )  which might not be easy to change later on (as your CGPA counts from PART 1 ) .

You might want to have fun ,visit each other ,Enjoy Anglomoz (lolz) etc .I advice you do this after you are sure you had studied that day and gained a lot as all  work (length study and maybe group discussions ) and no play (minimal tho ) makes  jack a dull boy (Lolz am sure jack can never be an OAU student )

You might be interested in politics ,journalism ,etc  .With proper planning you can achieve both (Edu & your desire ) ,but I advice you balance it well so as not to affect each other .

In conclusion ,I will like to advice you all to start studying immediately lecture begins as compiling it might be dangerous .The foundation stones for a balanced success are honesty, character, integrity, faith, love and loyalty.

Welcome Again to the mist of great ones ,as I always say "Coming together is the BEGINNING ,working and thinking together is PROGRESS ,winning and achieve together is SUCCESS " Add your quota and I believe together we would make OAU,NIGERIA and the world in general a better place .Selah .
