ACJOAU President, Olanrewaju Oyedeji Welcomes New News Agencies To Campus

WELCOME MESSAGE TO NEW NEWS AGENCIES ON OAU CAMPUS It is pertinent and important to welcome the new news agencies on OAU campus to the profession that speaks only through the Pen. Association of Campus journalists OAU has noticed the rate of daily influx of news agencies whose focus is on OAU, as the body responsible for maintaining sanity in our media space and environment, ACJOAU is using this medium to inform all new agencies that there are rules that guide operation as a media house on OAU campus. While we are in no way against disemmination of information, we stand to defend and protect the sanctity of our noble profession. It is on this note that in the coming days set modalities and requirements for registration with Association of Campus Journalists OAU will be unveiled. All media houses operating in/from OAU are expected to meet up with this caeteria that will be listed. Any media house that falls short of this standard(s) will not be recognized upon the expiration of deadline set by the secretariat for registration. We also want to use this medium to plead with media houses to continue reporting without bias whether as a new media house or an existing one. Flagrant abuse of ethics and codes of journalism may lead to stiff penalties by the Association. We wish us all very best of operations.
