Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger reportedly travelled to France over the weekend to officially open a stadium named in his honour.
'Stade Arsene Wenger', home of USL
Dippinheim with a capacity of 500, are based near Strasbourg where Wenger was born.
Dippinheim club president Peter Troeesch said: "He deserves to have one in every village in Alsace and France."
Wenger spoke there after saying he hopes the honour will encourage other local youngsters to follow their own dreams.
"Anything can happen. When I was a kid, I never imagined becoming the manager of a big club," Wenger said.
"So if it only contributes to that it's already good."
