The deputy president of the Senate, Ike Ekwerenmadu on Tuesday May 31, called on security agencies to always to always be cautious when quashing disturbances and protest to avoid unneccesary loss of lives.
Ekwerenmadu who gave this call while speaking on the floor of the senate on Tuesday, said that the country had witnessed a lot of unnecessary killing arising from clashes with security agencies.
He said that the protest by members of the Movement for The Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra(MASSOB) which led to a bloody clash in Delta and Anambra could have been handled separately.
