THE HEALTHINESS OF AN ASSOCIATION-A MEASURE OF ITS FINANCIAL SECURITY & TRANSPARENCY

    It isn't a fallacy that our country (Nigeria) is sick and needs drastic healing. However, the process of healing of this sickness must start from the grassroot; our Association. The question then is; is our association sick or healthy?

    Financial security of an association is the ability of an association to save enough money to cover financial goals of an association.The major enemy of financial security is misappropriation of the saved funds. Simply put, an association with high level of misappropriation can never be financially secured, thus such association is SICK.
    Financial transparency of an association is the ability of an association to make its financial state accessible to its members. The precursor to financial transparency is financial security.
    Virtually all leader(s) of an association will have its own financial goals (manifesto), so as to contribute its own quota to the progress of its association. You will agree with me that its only the achievement of these financial goals that can make our association healthy (progressive). These financial goals can only be met in a financially secured association. It is on this basis that the association can be proud to make information pertaining to the achievement of these financial goals accessible.

 Invariably, the finances of a financially secured association can be easily accounted for,therefore boosting it's transparency and growth.

     There are three steps
 needed to be taken to have a financially secured and transparent association. Here they are:
(1)Fight Financial misappropriation
(2)Fight Financial misappropriation
(3)Fight Financial misappropriation
