The Friend-Zone- Episode 3

Episode 3

I tried dialing my number with a friend's phone but it was not going through.

I was mad at myself for losing such an asset. I always believed that it was a part of me. I didn't pay much attention in class. I decided to try again once I was done for the day's work.

It was 2:00pm already and I was just clearing my things for home. The thought of my phone came again so I tried calling my number.

Alas! It rang. It took close to 10seconds before someone picked the call. I was about saying Hello when I heard a feminine voice. She quickly replied saying; "Hello, sorry if you know where the owner of this phone is, tell him to meet me at SUB car park ASAP(As Soon As Possible).

I was dumbfounded. I didn't know if this was Bukola but the voice sounded like it. I told her "Okay" and dropped the call.

I arranged everything I needed for home and dashed straight for SUB. I called the lady to ask where the she was again so we could meet. She told me she's close to me already.

I waited close to 2minutes then I felt something soft close to my shoulder. I turned to see what it was.
It was Bukola!. She was placing her hand on my shoulder. I know had lots of questions to ask but I cautioned myself.

We exchanged pleasantries and she gave me my phone. She said She saw it in her bag and it was probably when I was trying to alight from the bus it fell inside.

I believed she was telling the truth because I often put my phone in my back pocket. I thanked her so much. We both boarded a bus back home.

It was a Saturday Morning and I was tidying up my room when I heard my phone ringing. I picked it up and it was Charx.

He invited me over to his hostel for lunch and being my friend, I told him I would show up.

I got to his hostel thinking he already made lunch because I was famished, I saw him getting dressed.

I asked him where he was going to. He told me today is Bukola's birthday party and she invited most of her friends.

I was confused. I thought she would have sent a message or placed a call to me directly. I later assumed maybe it was Network.

We both got to her hostel and we saw lots of people drinking & eating. She knew a lot of people I could tell.

Charx went inside and was having fun with the rest while I was standing outside observing. I watched how the celebrant was going to & fro without noticing me.

I felt disappointed. I was wondering if I offended her. I gave Charx a signal. When he got closer to me, I told him I'll be leaving soon and I'll love to say "Hi" to the celebrant.

He called her for me. I wished her a Happy birthday and thanked me. She gave me small chops & Cake to eat. I was glad that I had something at least.

It was getting dark so I left the party and got myself back home
