A Tribute To My Fellow Brothers Who Have Been Friendzoned- Ify Chuks(Jnr)

The journey of a thousand miles they say,begins with a step.

The very intent which made you approach your "crush" by whatsoever means would be applauded oblivious of the fact if it was error-filled or not.

Before you set out on that journey,think of the rehearsals you've taken in front of your mirror.

You taught yourself how to smile,your intention was to make it captivating. After several trials,you got that which befits you and might probably impress her.

Before I walk up to her, let me do the major job online, WhatsApp became your base. You got her digits from a mutual female friend & the chats begun.


You literally subscribed becuse of her.

"You're the reason I'm online", you'ld say to yourself.


Days rolled by and you've struck a sensitive point in her mind,she now knows what you're driving at but she feigns ignorance.

Then one cool day,after you've probably eaten your favourite meal @supper, you decide to ask her out "online".


You type out the words selectively, carefully minding your placement of punctuations, you wouldn't want that to spoil your parole.


Then alas,she says no. She claims she sees you as a very good friend.

On seeing these words,your mouth turns sour,your body system becomes unstable,your phone starts sweating instead of your hands.


It takes much effort on your side to reply her with "Alright then,goodnight".

Then you switch off your data,you find it hard to sleep. Morning comes & you see her from afar in school.
As she approaches,you hide every form of sadness and sorrow,you two eventually meet and she hands out her right hand to shake you.

Just collect the shake in good faith,you aren't the first to be placed in this zone and neither will you be the last
