The Spanish National team have appointed Julen Lopetegui as new boss.
Lopetegui replaces Vicente del
Bosque, who resigned after Spain's exit from Euro 2016 as Italy defeated them 2-0 in the last 16.
Del Bosque, spent eight years in charge of the Spanish National team as he won the 2010 World cup as well as 2012 European Championship as he departs as one of the most successful coaches
in his country's history.
However it has been confirmed in a statement released on the Spanish federation (RFEF) website said: "The RFEF has appointed Julen Lopetegui as the new national team coach."
Lopetegui, who was a former Real Madrid and Barcelona goalkeeper, will be familiar to many of the Spain
national team having managed a number of them at youth level.
Lopetegui, the former FC porto began his coaching career as an assistant to
the Spain U17s, before brief stints with Rayo Vallecano and Real Madrid Castilla. In 2010, he took charge of Spain U19s, leading them to an U19 European Championship in 2012.
And a year later, he also led Spain U21s to U21 European Championship, guiding the likes of David de Gea, Thiago Alcantara and Alvaro Morata to the title in Israel.
Lopetegui left the Spanish Football Federation in 2014 to manage Porto, taking the Portuguese giants as far as the Champions League quarter- finals in his first season but was later sacked in January 2016 as Porto was unble to qualify for champions league round of 16 and tge
