Barcelona Down Helpless Manchester City; Match Report

Ruthless Barcelona defeated helpless Manchester City as  Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 Barcelona win to create a 5 points gap lead in Group C.

Guardiola decided to go for a compact midfield as he dropped Sergio Aguero for the second consecutive match yet again.

Messi in the 17th minutes didn't waste time to capitalize on Fernandinho's slip to round City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo as he gave his side the early lead.

However, Guardiola's City spurned numerous chances to draw level before half-time.

The game later turned on 53 minutes when former Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo was sent off in an encounter for a deliberate handball.

Barcelona without wasting time ruthlessly made numerical advantage count as Messi struck twice in eight minutes to notch his 37th club hat-trick.

Jeremy Mathieu was later dismissed for two bookable offences but that didn't derail the hosts as Neymar, who already missed a penalty in the 87th minute as he scored the 4th goal a minute from time.

The leader of Group C might be known in next match as Barcelona come to England in two weeks time....City fans willwill hope Guardiola has a way to go about it.
