----INTERVIEW WITH DADOO (EX-PRESIDENT OF IFUMSA,OAU )----
The just inducted Medical student with the name *DADA AYODELE OLANREWAJU* who was the last President of Ife Medicinal Students Association,OAU was interviewed by *SMARTBRAINS correspondent* on the 14th of October after his induction as a doctor on the 13th of October 2016.
When asked how it feels to be a graduate in the medical field, he started by giving thanks to GOD. He said everything is all about GOD and that his dream of becoming A DOCTOR was influenced by his encounter with a professor of ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY 13years ago, the professor in person or PROF. L.M OGINNI of OAUTHC. He has decided to follow his footsteps because of his simple way of life, his calmness, and his intelligence. He also met with some of his patient, they were all recovering.
*✨HOW HE GOT ADMISSION INTO OAU*
As a determined person, while trying to obtain admission into OAU for his course of choice he wrote UTME three times and choose OAU all through. The funny but mysterious thing about his admission was that his first and second choice for the three UTME was MEDICINE AND SURGERY. He said he does not have any impression of doing any other course.
His first UTME, he was given a course in the faculty of agriculture but he did not show up for it at all. He then went for OAU PRE-DEGREE, he passed very well (he had 86). The then cut-off mark for medicine was 79 but unfortunately that year it was raised to 90 so he wasn’t given medicine but was given MEDICAL REHABILITATION. With his ever determined zeal for medicine he wrote another UTME and POST UTME, passed and was given medicine and that was how the journey began.
*✨HIS JOURNEY SO FAR*
When asked about his journey from part one, he said it’s all about GOD, he started by giving thanks to GOD and his PARENTS for supporting all the way from day one on campus. He said it is not rosy, sometimes everything is okay and smooth and you would be like oh!” This is easy” but then life is not a bed of rose, you have to face some difficulties, challenges, stress and all then you be like “what am I doing here”. He said he believed in GOD, determination and hardworking and that those are the things that kept him going even at the time he had every right to break down.
*✨HOW HIS COURSE OF CHOICE AFFECT HIS SOCIAL LIFE?*
When asked about how he managed his academic with his social life he said he wasn’t a typical medicine student that people used to talk about, he said he didn’t allow his academics affect his social life and vice versa. His interaction with people was normal and he had a lot of extra-curricular activities.

Part One: he was the Gen. Secretary of local government student union.
Part Two: he was the president of the local government student union.
Part Three: he was the Assistant Gen. Secretary of medical student association.
Part four: he was an honorable member.
Part five: he became the president of the department.
He was also the constituency leader of his class in part one and two and also represented clinical sciences in SUG, he tried as much as possible to balance it with his academics. All with the grace of GOD.
*✨FAVOURITE READING SPOT*
He said his favorite reading spot his on his bed in his bedroom because he stayed in town right from his part one. “all my reading has been on my bed”.
*✨MEMORABLE DAY*
When asked about the day he would never forget, “Everyday has been unique in their own way, I cannot really pin point a day I will never forget because there are so many things I won’t even remember”- he said.
*✨RISKY (OAU HAMBURGER)*
When asked if he like risky, he said he used to like it and that the last time he ate risky was in part two, he said he ate it almost every day while in part one but eventually he got tired of it. “Risky does not satisfy me and it is not even rich enough to give required nutrients” he lamented.
*✨WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE A LICENSED DOCTOR*
He said he was proud of himself and his family when he was pronounced as a doctor. He counted himself lucky because most of the people he started with were not inducted but through GOD and his supportive PARENT and LECTURERS he was able to sail through.
*✨HIS PROPOSED AREA OF SPECIALIZATION*
When asked about the area he would like to specialize on, he said that it is not decided yet and that Medicine and surgery is sub-divided into different fields but he like ORTHOPAEDIC (specialist of bones and trauma)
*✨WHAT HE HAS TO SAY ABOUT THE CURRENT STATE OF THE SUG*
When asked, he said, “everything is not about ALUTA, student union are supposed to take things easy sometimes. They are supposed to have intellectual dialogue with the management although there are sometimes that the protest is necessary”.
*✨ADVICE TO JUNIOR COLLEAGUES*
His advice for his junior colleagues is that they should not be discouraged and that they should be hardworking.
